What is a General Agency (GA)? 

A General Agency (GA), such as TFA Benefits, is the link between independent insurance agents and insurance carriers. Our team is your dedicated back-office support that can help with product training, certifications, quoting, and applications so you can focus on growing your business. 

Where is TFA located? 

Our office headquarters is located in Downtown Norfolk, VA. We have team members across Hampton Roads and Richmond. 

What makes TFA different from other GAs? 

Our dedicated broker support team and the complimentary software we offer our brokers at no cost to them sets us apart from the rest. We enjoy being a local GA and having long-standing working relationships with our brokers and their clients.

Which carriers does TFA work with? 

TFA is proud to work with Anthem, Sentara Health Plans (Optima), United Healthcare, Allstate (National General), Cigna, Delta Dental and Vision, VSP, Avesis, Selman, Dominion National, MWG (Morgan White Group), Humana, WellCare, Aetna, Medico, and Mutual of Omaha.

Do I pay a fee to work with TFA?  

Brokers are paid 100% of the commissions earned by selling insurance policies through TFA Benefits. Insurance carriers pay TFA Benefits a percentage, or override, based on the total business placed through our agency. Our override is how we continue to develop our broker support staff, technology, and other broker resources for you at no cost. 

What is TFA Edge? 

TFA Edge is our proprietary group quoting software and customer relationship management (CRM) system. When brokers place their business through our agency, they receive TFA Edge at no cost.

How do I get appointed with TFA?
