The Requirement to Post Machine-Readable Files Begins July 1, 2022
The Transparency in Coverage Final Rules require group health plans and health insurance issuers to disclose on a public website detailed pricing information in three separate machine-readable files (MRFs) by July 1, 2022. The MRF requirements are applicable for plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2022. For 2022 plan years beginning after July 1, 2022, MRFs must be posted in the month in which the plan year begins (for example, September 1, 2022, for a plan year that is from September 1 to August 31).
Most employers will rely on their insurance carriers and third-party administrators (TPAs) to provide the MRFs. Our carrier partners are still releasing how this information will be provided come July 1, 2022, and we will share these details as soon as we have them.
Please click here to learn about the requirement to post machine-readable files. We hope you will join our upcoming webinar on June 22, Transparency in Coverage Rules and No Surprises Act, to hear more about this!
